Have you been affected by the floods?
The recent flood events across South East Queensland and New South Wales have severely impacted a lot of communities. We hope that you are at least safe and dry as the waters recede.
An Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment (AGDRP) has been announced by Services Australia to support people that have been adversely affected.
This Disaster Recovery Payment is a one-off, lump-sum payment of:
- $1,000 for eligible adults
- $400 for each eligible child younger than 16.
Who can apply for this payment?
If you or a dependant child have been seriously affected by the storms and floods, you are eligible for the Disaster Recovery Payment. Examples of situations that would apply are:
- Serious injury
- You’re an immediate family member of an Australian citizen or resident who died or is missing
- The flood caused major damage to your home
Couples can apply for this payment individually under separate claims.
